Unity in Purpose: What Happened to Trump & Elon Musk’s Vision for Change?
The media will throw gasoline on this fire to keep you from caring about the real news!
In last week’s post, I compared Nehemiah and President Trump because of the adversity they both faced in trying to save the nations they loved.
Just as Nehemiah confronted overwhelming challenges to rebuild Jerusalem, President Trump has been pushing to restore America to greatness. I’m confident that Trump is making progress, and I was thrilled when Elon Musk—someone with both the brains and the resources—joined the effort by leading DOGE. I didn’t give much thought when I first saw an email suggesting a rift between them; more propaganda, I thought.
But then I watched Flashpoint Live on YouTube, and my eyes were opened. This isn’t just another distraction from the real issues; it’s something more. Lance Wallnau, one of my mentors from Flashpoint, had urged his audience to pray for both Trump and Elon weeks ago. He now sees that moment as prophetic. Here’s the short YouTube from Lance that explains things well.
Watching this mess unfold, I can almost picture Satan doing a backflip and the happy dance over the conflict.
Here’s the thing: we’re talking about two giants—one is the most powerful man in the world, the other is the richest. They didn’t get there without strength, determination, and yes, a certain amount of ego. Elon wanted Trump to make budget cuts that he couldn’t, and it’s no surprise. Unlike Trump, Elon hasn’t spent years navigating the swamp of Washington, learning the intricacies of political compromise. Trump’s loyalty is to the American people, not just to any individual, no matter how influential or helpful.
Now, let’s draw a parallel to Nehemiah. When he set out to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, he faced ridicule, resistance, and threats from all sides. Nehemiah’s resolve, however, didn’t waver. His leadership united the people around a common purpose, and despite the opposition, the walls were rebuilt in record time.
In the same way, President Trump has faced fierce opposition—not only from political enemies, but from allies who have faltered. The question is: how do you lead and stay focused on the greater good when the very people you’re trying to unite are part of the challenge? Nehemiah showed us that the path to success is paved with persistence, unity, and unwavering commitment. President Trump, like Nehemiah, is fighting for something bigger than himself.
Applying Nehemiah’s Leadership to Today’s Struggles
Nehemiah’s leadership wasn’t about him—it was about the people and their future. Despite facing fierce opposition, he stayed focused on rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls and uniting the people for a common purpose. His determination reminds us of President Trump, who has also faced relentless criticism in his mission to restore America. Just like Nehemiah, Trump’s commitment to a bigger cause has kept him pushing forward, despite the obstacles.
One of the most important lessons we can take from Nehemiah is how he stayed focused on the bigger picture, even when things got tough. He didn’t let distractions or opposition get in the way of his mission. Trump’s leadership has been similar—he’s kept his eyes on the end goal, even when allies like Elon Musk have disagreed with him and even attacked him.
Both leaders remind us that, while there’s always going to be resistance, the goal is worth it. Nehemiah relied on God’s guidance to restore the city, and Trump has trusted that his mission to rebuild America is part of something bigger than any individual battle. Just like Nehemiah united the people of Jerusalem, we’re called to unite behind leaders who are fighting for our future, no matter the setbacks. Do not let this disagreement lessen your support for our president.
The lesson is clear: unity and focus are key. Whether it’s in our families, our communities, or our nation, we’re called to stand together in the face of adversity, just as Nehemiah did, and keep moving forward with purpose. If Satan can keep us distracted by using Musk and get our eyes off the ball, our country will suffer for it. As Lance requested weeks ago, we need to pray for both President Trump and Elon Musk.
I’m going to paraphrase from one of my favorite preachers, Allen Jackson’s book, God Bless America Again. As Christians, we have a crucial role to play in this season of confusion and chaos. We are just as mission-critical to navigating through this time as our political leaders. If the Church neglects its responsibility, the confusion and chaos will only continue. But if the Church unites in prayer and action, there is nothing that can stop us from returning our country to its biblical roots and values, and reclaiming the superpower status we once had.
Don’t get distracted by the noise. Don’t stop praying for all of our leaders, even those we find difficult to support. I’ll admit, I struggle to pray for some of them. As a California escapee, I can’t stand Governor Newsom. I’m angry about what he’s done to our beautiful state. But I won’t go down that rabbit hole today—there’s plenty more to discuss on that topic for another time. As I’m writing this, I’m asking the Holy Spirit to help me pray for those I can’t muster up the strength to pray for on my own.
We’re all called to be part of this restoration process—whether it’s within our families, our communities, or the nation at large. What role is God calling me to play in this mission? The answers may look different for each of us, but the important thing is to remain faithful and obedient to the tasks He sets before us.
No matter what challenges lie ahead, we can hold fast to this truth: with God, all things are possible. We may not have all the answers or the solutions to every issue we face, but we know the One who does. Our God is mighty, and He has a plan for this nation. So, let’s stay faithful, united, and committed to the task ahead. With God’s guidance and the strength of our unity, there is no limit to what we can accomplish. Together, we can be part of the restoration He has promised.
