The Amazing Campers for Christ Rally in Grapeland, Texas
Fellowship, worship, fun, and fantastic sunrises!

Our stay at the Salmon Lake Park Resort with the Campers for Christ was awesome!
We’ve been on the road as full-time RVers for over three years, and my husband is tired of driving our 45-foot motorhome, towing our car. We visited the Roving Volunteers in Christ Service Village for the first time in March and knew we’d found a home. We planned to return to Smithville in November but changed our minds and parked in our new annual site this week.
Our last stop before returning to our homesite in Smithville, Texas, was to Grapeland for a Campers for Christ Regional Rally. We have made lots of amazing friends in C4C, and the opportunity to enjoy their company at the regional rally was one of the reasons for our early return. As Texas residents, we will get to enjoy more of the rallies.

It’s hotter in Texas in September than we realized. The earlier I got my walks in, the better when it was in the 80s by 9:00 a.m. The sunrises were amazing, and my visits with the local cows were fun. They were pretty friendly, even letting me pet them.
I was excited to find out that Marilyn, the lovely president of the Heartland Chapter, which covers five states (IN-IL-MI-OH-WI), would be there. Tommy and I attended the rally in Wisconsin to help fire up the deactivated chapter. Marilyn’s a kick in the pants, and it was great spending time with her at a rally she wasn’t coordinating. If you live in the heartland and want to get involved in Campers for Christ, she could use more help.

The fun video above shows Marilyn going down the massive water slide. She loved it and did it four times. I did it once and had no desire to do it again. I’m adding a post about my experience in Notes.

Campers for Christ is an excellent organization for believers. You can join a rally in an RV or a tent. Some places, like Salmon Lake, offer cabins too. We always leave the rallies feeling refreshed and built up in the Lord. There’s nothing like hanging out with fellow Christ followers.
We invite people in the campgrounds to join us and offer prayer to anyone who needs it. You’d be amazed by how many takers we get. We’re living in tough times, and the needs are significant.
A typical rally includes nice continental breakfasts supplied by the rally hosts, daily devotionals and prayer, and worship gatherings. In nightly pot blessings, as we call them, we all chip in to provide a tasty dinner for the group. There is never a shortage of food.
I hope you’ll check out their website and find a rally near you or where you want to visit. If more people get involved, many inactive chapters could be brought back to life.
Thanks for coming along. Maybe we’ll meet someday at a rally. 😊
