Merry Christmas from Our Home to Yours (I’m Praying it’s a Blessed One)
The places we call home may vary, but we share the same heart.
Our little family on wheels has been blessed to find a fantastic community to settle into, and we are spending our first Christmas here as residents. As my subscriber, you know how much we love the Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service organization and community. I hope you are equally blessed in your home this Christmas.
One of the fantastic benefits of being a Christian and walking out our faith is the incredible kinship we share with our brothers and sisters in Christ. It doesn’t matter where you go; you are not alone if there is another Christian. Tommy and I have crossed the country five times in as many years and met the most incredible people. We’ve made new friends in more states than I can count.
The pivotal key to the new relationships has been our love of Christ. I hope everyone reading this post knows that kind of camaraderie. There is truly nothing like it. I spent my birthday with some lovely ladies this year. Except for our hostess, Brigit, who I’ve known for over fifteen years, they were all new friends. But it felt like we’d known each other for decades: the reason Jesus.
Tommy and I volunteered for four RVICS projects this year and attended three Campers for Christ Rallies. We purchased our site in the RVICS Village, where we plan to spend at least six months of the year. Along the way, we met a couple in a state park in Wisconsin who invited us to park our motorhome next to their church en route to Michigan.
We connected because I stopped to ask if I could pet their dog, and they noticed my Christian t-shirt. That opened the door for us to visit them at their RV and have them come to ours. The connection was, once again, Jesus. We spent a few nights parked next to their church in Pound, WI, on the way to our RVICS reunion in Michigan. They gave up their 50-amp plugin so we could use it, and they took the 30-amp connection.
We met a sweet couple in Pennsylvania at the Thousand Trails Park we stayed in. The connection was forged because we had matching motorhomes. As you can see in the photos, ours isn’t exactly a standard color. The connection grew because of our relationship with Christ. They even drove me to the Trump rally, which my husband wasn’t interested in attending.

We’ve kept in contact with both couples, and they plan to visit us in Texas. We’ve met hundreds of people in our travels, but the ones we stay connected to are the ones who share our faith. It’s such a beautiful thing that you want everyone to experience it.
I pray that everyone reading this will have a relationship with Jesus, who we celebrate at Christmas. Don’t get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of gift purchases and parties and forget who we are celebrating. Have the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest New Year. We have so much to be grateful for, and I hope you do, too.
I have someone very close to me who is currently homeless, and I’m asking God to send him a Jesus representative this holiday season. I’m sure I’m not alone in this. I’ll pray for you and yours. Please join me in praying for those who don’t have a home to enjoy.

Glad you made it back home safely after your birthday escapade. I read all about it and really enjoyed it. Our faith definitely holds us together as Believers.
I am in agreement and in prayer with you on those less fortunate, and I ask God every morning to show me who I can help that day.
Nothing is coincidental. Every time I leave the property which is once a week sometimes twice a week, I end up going somewhere that I would’ve gone the day before or two days after or whatever the situation - and every single time I not only meet one person but two or three that might need a word of encouragement, or a meal, hug, or whatever it is and the funny thing about it is no matter what their situation is, they are believers as well.
God is good 🙏
It is truly a joyous season to celebrate life, light, and liberty with family and friends, and to make new friends with whom to share the glorious good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We sheltered a homeless person and her dog at Christmastime many years ago when we were living in San Diego. It was an experience we and our kids won't ever forget. We provided shelter, food, transportation, and friendship for a few weeks and our souls were the richer for it. Then one day she just left and we never heard from her again. We have always hoped that she found a safe place to stay longer term, but we will likely never know.
Happy Christmas, and a very Merry New Year!
