I intended to get a final post out on New Year’s Eve, but I hated what I wrote. I kept going back to my email and attempting to edit it. It didn’t feel right, so I finally scrapped it entirely. What you are reading, post-2022 is what I hope will be a letter of inspiration and hope.
My first attempt at my year-end newsletter talked a lot about what I’m thrilled to be putting behind us. I may post it later. Today I want to share what I am praying for and believing we will see in 2023. Revival, renewal, and refreshing are the words that keep resonating with me. I hope they do for you too.
I believe the revival of the church will save this country. I think God allowed so much misery because America’s Christians became apathetic, apologetic, and downright lazy. I’m not pointing fingers. We are all guilty to some extent, including me. It’s time for Christians to stand and let their voices be heard. Even if you are shunned, ridiculed, and laughed at.
It’s been a harsh year for many people. So many things took place that I never thought I’d see in my lifetime. It’s easy to feel downhearted. Hope and joy don’t come to mind unless you are intentional about it. I plan on being intentional in 2023.
I intend to be joyful, even when things look scary and hopeless. I intend to wait on God and His timing, trusting His ways are better than mine. I battled this when America didn’t experience the Red Wave I believed for. Some of the people that got voted into office left my head spinning.
Enough said about that. I’m keeping this positive. I embraced Medium for writing posts, and I’m glad I did. I find it much easier to write appealing posts on the application than WordPress. I’ve made many new friends from all over the world on the platform. I’ve been inspired by them all. I will become a better writer because of their support and input. I started this newsletter because of a fellow writer’s suggestion. Welcome aboard if you are one of my new subscribers.
I hope you had many blessings in 2022, along with the challenges.
We had some significant events take place last year. We traded our 40-foot 2018 Fleetwood Discovery motorhome for a 45-foot 2017 Entegra, Anthem. I got the bath and a half I wanted so badly. Tommy got more horsepower and Jake Breaks. We love our new rig despite the challenges. I documented them in these posts. If you are considering purchasing an RV, you want to give them a read.

Despite escaping from California in July of 2021, we were still attached to the not-so-golden state because our house didn’t sell that year.
But, praise God, we closed escrow on our Shingletown home on August 1st, 2022. It was a huge blessing! Interest rates climbed, and we had to reduce the price, but we were free. Thank God almighty, we are free at last. No more outrageous property tax, insurance, and maintenance bills. No more wildfires a mile away. We miss our peeps, but you can have the politics and the taxes.
We have joined the Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service. RVICS for short.
It’s a great organization that uses Christian volunteers to help those in need. We will be given a list of places where volunteers are needed, and we will choose where we can help out. Tommy must work at least six hours daily, four days a week. I will work two hours a day, four days a week. There goes that excuse not to write. Four hours of quiet time while Tommy is out working, will lead to more posts.
We will also be heading to Texas this year. Tommy needs a LOT of dental work. The estimate the dentist gave him here in the states is $30,000.00. We don’t have dental insurance, and we don’t have that much cash lying around. He can get the work done in Mexico by reputable dentists at a third of the price. We have talked with many folks who go to Mexico for all dental work, prescriptions, and eyeglass needs. They have nothing but great things to say.
I am so optimistic about 2023. I know that it will bring great things. We will see miracles and God’s manifested power on display like never before. Will we still have challenges? You bet we will. If we got through 2022, we can get through anything.
Thanks for taking the time to read my newsletter. I hope your coming year is blessed, prosperous, and peaceful.
God bless, Cat
