Happy Thanksgiving! I am so grateful for every one of you.

What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving season? I’m praying that you have many things to be thankful for. It’s a wonderful time of the year for many but a difficult season for lots of folks, too. If you are one of those who is struggling, please feel free to reach out. I would love to pray for you.
It’s been a crazy year politically and in so many other areas. If you are like me, you try to stay positive amid these troubling times. You want to stay informed, but you can only watch so much news before you start to feel down. My husband and I watch a little Newsmax in the morning to catch up on what’s happening. We don’t watch ANY mainstream news. We don’t trust it anymore.
Let me tell you what we do trust. We believe that God has a fantastic plan for His people. He never promised us that life would be easy. In fact, He tells us quite the opposite in John 16:32.
You will notice that before Jesus warns us of the troubles, He promises us His peace. Without my faith, I would have lost my mind by now. Before renewing my relationship with Christ, I worried about everything. I stressed over so many things that I had no control over.
The first issue God addressed to change me from a worry wart to a woman of faith was my control-freak tendencies. It wasn’t a cakewalk, but I enjoy so much peace now. During challenges, I can pray and believe in good things instead of having a meltdown. Those who have known me long have been happy witnesses to my changes.
We serve a miracle-working God. Do you believe that? I hope you do. I can’t imagine living in these turbulent times without the hope we get from a relationship with Christ. With Him, all things are possible.
I expect to have a lot more to be grateful for in 2024. There are so many encouraging things going on right now. You don’t hear about them from the mainstream media. You have to make a concerted effort to find them. At the end of this email, I’m sharing a list of podcasts and YouTube channels that encourage me.
We all have something to be thankful for. I’m praying that you have a blessed Thanksgiving, whether you are spending it with family and friends or alone with the Lord.
Our mindset has a lot to do with our joy. It’s hard to be grateful and grumpy at the same time. I often need the reminder from Philippians 4:8: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
To have a happy Thanksgiving, take a moment to reflect on the things you are grateful for. This will help you appreciate the good things in your life and feel more content.
Share them with family and friends, and don’t forget to be a blessing too.
It doesn’t have to cost you a penny. A kind word or a helping hand can make all the difference to someone in pain. Let’s vow to make this the best holiday season by loving on and helping as many people as humanly possible.
